Global warming is a phenomenon caused by a huge amount of carbon gasses released in our atmosphere. These gasses are from fuel burning from factory, vehicles, and burned forest. These gasses trapping sun-heat inside the atsmosphere, which is normally being released in to the space. Therefore, the increasing earth’s temperature can’t be avoided. The impact are so devastating. Rising temperature causes a dramatic climate change. Disasters such as storms, tornadoes, avelanches, raging tidal waves, heavy rains followed by flood as well as prolonged dry seasons causing harvesting failure are happening all over the world. A health issues concerning with the globally warmer temperature is mosquitos whose responsible for diseases like malaria and dengue fever are breeding in warm temperature, make it possible to breed in subtropical climate where it have never been found before. If it continued, the long term disaster would be te melting of artic ice and glaciers. It is estimated that by the end of 2070, most of the economically-important harbour cities and panoramic beaches such as Bali will be drowned. Not only causing the habitat-loosing of penguins and polar bears, but also humans.
But the global awareness are giving us a new hope. Started with a documentary movie “An Unconveniant Truth” by ex-US president Al Gore and UN’s Climate Change Conference in Bali. But more steps are needed to overcome this situation.
So what can we do to stop global warning? Well. remember “The Buterfly Effect” that every little “deeds” can have an enormous impact you can’t even imagine. Remember that every garbage you just thrown away on any place can cause catasthropic impact: flood that suffering thousand of people.
Any little things you can do are:
- Save energy by using just adequate electricity for your daily usage such as computer, desk lamp, even charging your batteries and handphone because you don’t know how much fuel it takes to generate electricity for your daily usage.
- Campaign for carbon diet by reducing your usage of motorcycles. More often you walk, healthier you are. Use public vehicles such as busses, because 20 people using an old bus with bad exhaust are still better than they using their own vehicles with better exhaust. Beside that you can prevent traffic jam from happening.
- Be careful for what you eat. Not only diet your stomach but also diet for energy used for cooking, for example avoid fried meals which is using fat oils and kerosene or gas for flaring the stove, but choose baked or boiled food or even raw food.
- Plant trees! Eventhough I think that step is a little bit too lateand we can’t feel the benefit right away, but at least our next generation will.
- Grow plants everywhere, even if it only a small pot near your window because it will absorbs carbon gasses ang might save your life (just don’t get to near when you’re sleep).
- Reduce your usage of paper. Believ it or not, that easy step will save our forest. Choose recycle papers than those white smooth papers.
- Give yourself a second thought before burning anything. Recycle anything that can still be reused and it will reduce the amount of garbage. Do you know where those garbage go? Burned of course, increasing the amount of carbon gasses in the air, not mentioned the pollution.
So that’s some easy try-this-at-home tips to overcome the global warming. Small steps but you won’t know the benefit for our beloved mother earth.let me know if you have a brighter ideas. I’ll wait for it. Just sent me your comments. Save the earth, sounds cliché but just don't make any excuses. Do it frow now! OK?
